Absent: Nadine Schmidt Agenda Items: Welcome back to new academic year: Betsy spoke with Vicky Brockman about CIA composition membership and guidelines; Vicky will put out a call for more faculty members. Betsy also spoke with Vicky regarding Lori and Betsy attending the recent MUSAASF Professional Development day where Connie Gores was the guest speaker. At the end of the event a few people approached Betsy about membership in the CIA. It was speculated as to whether other constituencies should have representation on the CIA. Jan believes the CIA is a University Committee which would allow membership from other bargaining units. Betsy will pursue this regarding more faculty and othersspecifically, Linda Nelson and Carrie Hanson have asked about membership. Betsy will contact Jefferson Lee and Diana Holmes about MUSAASF and AFSCME. There was considerable discussion on overall membership composition. Possible topics for October 18th: IDST 400 Possible topic for November 1st: Mini-assessment grants for spring 2013. Maybe ask the 2012 recipients to present how they used their grant and what was accomplished. Betsy asked that if people are out talking to other folks please pass along any information or comments from other areas to Betsy; what do people want to talk about, what to explore? What do people want to do? Also to talk about in the future is the definitions of curricular versus co-curricular programs. Spring 2012 mini-assessment grant results: Betsy has received seven of the eight reports. Now, where does Betsy put them and what do we do with them? Should this be placed on the CIA t-drive? Lori proposed we look at the results of the spring 2012 grants and use those as something to think about as we look at the 2013 applications. Should we provide feedback to these grant results? It was agreed that there must be some acknowledgement to the recipients. Members of the CIA should read all summary reports before the October meeting. There was considerable discussion on how Departments that used the grants can report out and highlight results; what to post. Wiji will post on the CIA webpage the Programs and their curriculum maps; will create a link so if people on the CIA page can go directly to curriculum and/or assessment plans, to show the checklist. What will be posted: (1) Outcomes, (2) Assessment Plan and (3) the Curriculum Map. We will ask each Program to create a side-bar on their Program page and use a standard order. Lori Baker pointed out that when she thinks of the website and the Department pages the primary audience is the prospective student and other student(s) so is posting this way the best way to do this? Should this page be buried a bit more? Maybe make it the last tab on the side-bar which might be ignored by a prospective student because they are no longer interested at that point, it is information they may not find pertinent to them. It should on the side-bar toward the bottom of the side-bar tabs because it is for us; it shows the sustainability of these efforts. Call for Fall 2012 mini-assessment grantsapplications due Sept. 26. Process for reviewing mini-grants? CIA members should have all 2012 summaries and 2013 spring applications reviewed by the October meeting. Where to mini-grant applications? Betsy is very happy with the help received from Monica Miller; Betsy will receive and post applications electronically. How to include other units in campus-wide assessment, specifically, how do we link Academic Affairs with Student Affairs The flow chart is addressing academics; we should clarify that fact in the heading. People can find the CIA web page by going to Administration and then Assessment. Go the CIA web page for the spring 2013 mini-grant application forms. They look fabulous! Betsy gave great thanks to Monica Miller of the Science Department for the attractive form that can be used with ease; Betsy will receive the applications electronically. The deadline is September 26th; we should have read all applications by the October meeting. Go to the SMSU Homepage, then Administration and then to Assessment to CIA. Any requests for money not spent from the 2012 mini-grant such as Educations request was approved. The remaining money is still in their account. Meeting adjourned around 10:20 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Jan Loft DL P Q o q | ,LͻtetUCUC7h)CJOJQJaJ"h@hj>*CJH*OJQJaJh@hj>*CJOJQJaJh@hnCJOJQJaJ"h@hn5CJOJQJ\aJ%h@hn5>*CJOJQJ\aJ%h@h&5>*CJOJQJ\aJh@5CJOJQJ\aJ"h@hj5CJOJQJ\aJh@hjCJOJQJaJ"h@hj5>*CJOJQJaJ"h@h&5CJOJQJ\aJ 6D Q | Xytu d^gd@ & Fdgd@ dgd@gd@$a$gd@LMWX#r+0rbPr=-hV5>*CJOJQJ\aJ%h@hY:5>*CJOJQJ\aJ"h@h&5CJOJQJ\aJh;5>*CJOJQJ\aJ"h@hY:5CJOJQJ\aJ"h@hY:5>*CJOJQJaJh)CJOJQJaJh@hY:CJOJQJaJh@hY:>*CJOJQJaJ%h@h&5>*CJOJQJ\aJh)hY:CJOJQJ\aJh)CJOJQJ\aJh)5CJOJQJ\aJ0>CxSUstʸʖtdtXtXtL@h@CJOJQJaJh&CJOJQJaJh)CJOJQJaJh@h@CJH*OJQJaJh@h@CJOJQJaJ%h@h@5>*CJOJQJ\aJ%h@h&5>*CJOJQJ\aJhT5CJOJQJ\aJ"h@hY:5CJOJQJ\aJ"h@h&5CJOJQJ\aJhV5>*CJOJQJ\aJ%h@hY:5>*CJOJQJ\aJh&"h@h@5CJOJQJ\aJ21h:p(Dz/ =!"#$% j 666666666vvvvvvvvv666666>6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666hH6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666662 0@P`p2( 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p 0@P`p8XV~ OJPJQJ_H[mH nH sH tH @`@ &NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH DA D Default Paragraph FontRiR 0 Table Normal4 l4a (k ( 0No List N@N & List Paragraphd^m$PK![Content_Types].xmlN0EH-J@%ǎǢ|ș$زULTB l,3;rØJB+$G]7O٭V$ !)O^rC$y@/yH*񄴽)޵߻UDb`}"qۋJחX^)I`nEp)liV[]1M<OP6r=zgbIguSebORD۫qu gZo~ٺlAplxpT0+[}`jzAV2Fi@qv֬5\|ʜ̭NleXdsjcs7f W+Ն7`g ȘJj|h(KD- dXiJ؇(x$( :;˹!
